Description
Been working with BPO companies for 4 years. Technical support for Microsoft, Customer Service Representative for Cricket, and recently as a Medical Biller for Physicians Billing Solution, under the OCR (Outstanding Claims Review Specialist) department. Entering patient demographics in the system; Verifying patient insurance via insurance websites or calling different insurance companies; Ensuring that all procedure codes, diagnosis codes, charge amounts, and units are entered correctly based on all available reference files; Assign a numeric code to define diagnostics, treatments, and procedures; Confirms that all Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes are linked to appropriate diagnosis code ICD-9/ICD-10; Understands the use of modifiers; Identifies, analyzes, and understands the reason for claim denials; Coordinates with the other medical billing departments to make sure that each claim is submitted to the correct insurance company to avoid denials; Posts, fixes and resubmits all claim denials encountered in the Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) (ex. checking and verifying the patient’s plan if still active or termed through websites or through calling the insurance companies; updating the patient’s insurance and identifying the correct insurance to pay for the doctor visits or procedures; Posting payments received by different insurances; Posting personal payments of the patient; Trains newly hired employees as needed, as indicated by the Supervisor and Account Manager.
