Job brief
We are looking for an outstanding Web Developer to be responsible for the coding, innovative design and layout of, both, our website and those of our customers. Web developer responsibilities include building our website from concept all the way to completion from the bottom up, fashioning everything from the home page to site layout, speed and function.
What will the Website Developer do?
As our Website Developer, your job will be to develop streamlined, scalable systems, strategies and structures and coordinate people and processes to ensure that our website buildout projects are delivered on time and produce the desired results. You will be assigned multiple projects to be worked on simultaneously and be responsible for everything involved in a project as it relates to the website buildout, function and delivery. You will also communicate with the Project Manager regarding the timeline of each project as it relates to your deliverables.
As well, your job will be to develop and maintain scalable systems, strategies and structures for our own website to ensure it meets the ongoing needs of both our internal teams and our customers.
Website Developer Duties
A Web Developer is in charge of ensuring websites look good and function properly. Web developers collaborate with website and graphic designers, monitor website traffic, troubleshoot website problems when they arise, and update websites as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Website Build-outs for Mastering Ecommerce clients on various platforms including, but not limited to: Shopify, WooCommerce, Sales Funnels, etc.
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
- Create website layout/user interface by using pre-built themes, page builders and standard HTML/CSS practices
- Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
- Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
- Create and maintain software documentation
- Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our site
- Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
- Cooperate with designers to match visual design intent
Requirements and skills
- Proven working experience in website building platforms and programming
- Top-notch programming skills and in-depth knowledge of modern HTML/CSS
- Familiarity with at least one of the following programming languages: PHP, ASP.NET, Javascript or Ruby on Rails
- A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
- Adequate knowledge of relational database systems, Object Oriented Programming and web application development
- Hands-on experience with network diagnostics, network analytics tools
- Basic knowledge of Search Engine Optimization process
- Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills
- Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumen
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
- BS in computer science or a related field
